This blow gun comes from the Baram river area in eastern Sarawak. It is made by the Penan nomadic people who use it for hunting birds and animals. The bore is driled using a sharpened iron rod. It takes two people many days to complete the job. The spear tip is carefully placed so the the bore is perfectly straight when aimed. We got this in Marudi in 1987. David is an excellent marksman using the darts on small (stuffed) animals.
