This 26" mandau was obtained from eBay in 2000. Exquisitely carved horn/bone hilt, with a wealth of intricate detail in high relief, with tufts of hair and delicately bound grip. The scabbord is inlaid with bone. The 21" blade is hand forged with bevelled spine. The sheath contains a long shafted knife allegedly used in ritualistic post mortem ceremony involving the removal of the victims cranial contents. There is a plaited hanging strap with which to secure the weapon, and the remains of a broken feather to the end of this sheath
